Karen Wichert, DVM
Dr. Karen Wichert joined Bothell Pet Hospital in Fall 2013, though she has been working in veterinary hospitals since age 14. In fact, she knew by age 11 that she wanted to become a veterinarian! Dr. Wichert is a native of Washington State and attended Washington State University for both her undergraduate work and her DVM degree, graduating in 1989. After graduation, she began practicing in the Portland, Ore., area, then moved to Southern California before returning home to the Evergreen State in 2011.
Dr. Wichert enjoys the diversity of veterinary medicine but has special interests in internal medicine, feline medicine, dentistry, and preventive care.
“What I enjoy most about my work at Bothell Pet Hospital is getting to know each patient and client,” says Dr. Wichert. “I find the most rewarding aspect of being a veterinarian is working together with families to help their pets thrive for the duration of their lives.”

Home Life
Dr. Wichert currently shares her home with two beautiful rambunctious felines that started their lives as local rescues. In her free time, she can be found enjoying the great outdoors in any one of her favorite activities, including bicycling, skiing, hiking, and running. Dr. Wichert also enjoys traveling, yoga, the arts, and spending time with her family and friends.
