Daniel
Treatment Assistant
Growing up and caring for all kinds of animals from rats to donkeys, Daniel has been fascinated by wildlife for as long as he can remember. We have Daniel’s dog, Winston, to thank for sparking his interest in animal anatomy—leading him to his studies and ultimately to the Bothell Pet Hospital team. Starting with us in 2023, we are so grateful for Daniel’s demonstrated curiosity, dedication to patient care, and adaptability!
While Daniel is no stranger to veterinary medicine, we’ve been lucky enough to welcome him into his first professional position in the field. Daniel is interested in the overlap between his work as a Treatment Assistant and his background in wildlife conservation. He is, of course, motivated by the opportunity to help animals, but also to examine and better understand the nuances of their health.
“My interest in veterinary medicine persists in knowing I’m making a difference,” Daniel shared. “Working with animals hands-on is tangible and allows you to know beyond abstract assumptions that you’ve helped them when they were hurting.”
Daniel is deeply focused on the patient’s well-being and is always empathetic to our clients, knowing that their focus is the same. His passion for this work and hunger to learn do not go unrecognized, and his flexible approach to teamwork makes him an excellent collaborator!
Education
Bachelor of Science, Wildlife Conservation Biology & Applied Vertebrate Ecology, California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt, Arcata, CA.
Volunteer Work
Much of Daniel’s experience caring for a variety of animals came from his time volunteering on his family friend’s ranch. He’s also enjoys opportunities to support his local animal centers.
Home Life
In his downtime, Daniel enjoys getting outside for an occasional hike, playing games on his computer, and watching TV with his family. He is also quite entertained by his three cats and their unique quirks: Babette, a slow-moving American Long Hair whose eyes never move; Tigger, a typical orange Tiger Tabby whose tail curls into a loop when happy; and Tootsie, a black and white mystery breed who chirps like a hawk.
