Tara

Treatment Assistant

Influenced by her mom’s Zoology background, Tara has loved animals for as long as she can remember — and has rescued everything from quails, tarantulas, and snakes to dogs, horses, and more. Thankfully, Tara followed her passion and started with Bothell Pet Hospital in 2023. Bringing her extensive professional and customer service experience and lifelong devotion to animal care, we are so lucky to have Tara on our team!

It has always been her dream to become a veterinarian, and even though Tara’s career took her down different paths, joining our team is not her first role in veterinary medicine. Years ago, Tara helped at a large veterinary center in her then-area and learned how to care for and administer medicine to sick dogs. She nursed a Mastiff with bone cancer to live four years longer than expected, and today cares for her Frenchie with special needs.
These experiences influenced Tara to deepen her knowledge of the long-term illnesses that affect animals, such as cancers, pancreatitis, kidney issues, and more. This area of veterinary medicine is what interests Tara the most, inspiring her to research veterinary practices and apply her findings to help as many animals as possible.

“I grew up in an animal-loving home and learned to help animals in any way possible,” Tara shared. “I’ve always wanted to be a veterinarian.”

Tara’s commitment to learning and willingness to help in any way she can, whether solo or through bouncing ideas off the team, makes her an asset to our patients, clients, and hospital as a whole!

Home Life

Tara loves spending time with her family, especially traveling all over the United States and internationally with her boys for their baseball tournaments. Even outside of the hospital, Tara stays curious—loving to read and research anything and everything related to animals or topics for friends and family. Her beloved two dogs, a French Bulldog named Eddie (aka Mr. Grumbles) and a Frenchie Boston Terrier Mix named Lenny (aka Ding-Dong, for his not-so-smart but loveable personality), also influence her research. Both having allergies and Eddie having chronic pancreatitis, her most recent focus has been on diets for dogs with pancreatic, kidney, and urinary issues.
