Dr. Katy Germann

DVM

Dr. Katy Germann joined our team as a veterinarian in August 2026, after a winding road of exploration led her to veterinary medicine. Early on in her education, Dr. Germann knew she wanted to work with animals, and with the ability to help both people and their pets, becoming a Veterinarian was the clear fit. Dr. Germann enjoys the perpetual challenge that is navigating medicine, patient care, and the many nuances both bring. She is deeply fulfilled by the wonderful combination her career brings: meaningful relationships, problem-solving, and lifelong learning. The simple truth that no case is ever quite the same keeps her work interesting and meaningful day after day.

With an inherently strong work ethic, Dr. Germann aims to give every case her full attention, putting in extra effort to find the best solution while ensuring her patients and their families feel supported throughout their care. She thoroughly enjoys learning new things, from problem-solving unique treatment plans to discovering how to best meet the needs of each patient and owner as individuals.

Dr. Germann approaches care with understanding, curiosity, and accountability. She collaborates with pet owners to provide superior care and find practical next steps, while always remaining focused on the patient’s best interests. And she wholeheartedly believes veterinary medicine is done best as a team effort.

“I recognize that every person has something to teach me,” Dr. Germann shared. “I value the knowledge and perspective of the entire team and believe the best patient care comes from working together, asking questions, sharing ideas, and being willing to both give and receive help.”

The people behind our practice ultimately led Dr. Germann to choose Bothell Pet Hospital. Our kind, welcoming, and connection-driven team felt like a natural fit for her, and she is thrilled to work for an independently owned practice. Dr. Germann sought a role where she would have the space, mentorship, and support to grow into the kind of veterinarian she wants to be. Our practice is a place where she’s invited to do both: work alongside people she genuinely enjoys while continuing to learn and develop as a doctor. She is eager to continue growing her skills and knowledge and to see where her curiosity and interests take her, and we are grateful to have her on our team.

Education

Volunteer Work

Dr. Katy Germann’s passion for fostering community among veterinary professionals and supporting future veterinarians is evident in her volunteer work. She was an orientation mentor for two summers during her doctorate program, where she organized team-building activities and helped incoming veterinary students transition into the academic and social environment. After each summer, she remained a source of ongoing support and guidance for mentees throughout their education.

Home Life

When she’s not at work, Dr. Germann can usually be found outside, spending time exploring the mountains with her husband and her 6-year-old dog, a scruffy terrier mix named Teemo. A lifelong fan of video games, she enjoys both solo adventure games and chaotic multiplayer games with friends. She also loves listening to music, going to concerts, and reading, especially fantasy novels and memoirs.
