Emily

Emily joined Bothell Pet Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in May 2026, bringing a strong background in human medicine and a passion for helping animals. She is a detail-oriented and solution-driven team player with a deep love for all aspects of communicating with and caring for animals.

Before making the switch to veterinary medicine, Emily worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for three years. During that time, she gained valuable medical, documentation, and time management skills. She enjoyed helping others as a CNA, but her care for humans ultimately led her to discover her passion for working with pets and medicine. That realization began while she was caring for a client who had a dog, and her role expanded to caring for both her client and their dog. She found she had a deep interest in animal health and soon made the switch to vet medicine.

Motivated to continue growing her expertise, Emily is currently studying to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Eventually, she would like to expand her work beyond dogs and cats to help reptiles such as snakes and turtles. “I’m eager to learn as much as I can and provide the best care possible to each animal that comes through Bothell Pet Hospital’s doors,” she shared. “I love seeing all of the pets’ faces, knowing that I’m helping them and their owners, and getting to provide care that hopefully makes the next visit a little easier and the current visit less hard.”

Above all, Emily is thrilled to be on a team of empathetic, hard-working, care-focused professionals who give their all to their patients, clients, and community, and she especially values any opportunity to collaborate and learn from others’ perspectives.

Volunteer Work

Emily spent four years volunteering with FLAME Missions, a group dedicated to local and international community service. During that time, she traveled to Costa Rica, the Philippines, and Africa, where she helped people access food, shelter, and medical care. Her volunteer efforts also supported local food banks and families in Sultan, WA. 

Home Life

Emily has lots of hobbies outside of work. She loves all things art and creative, including acrylic painting, drawing, coloring, pottery, and glassblowing. She also enjoys hiking, reading, playing board games, baking, cooking, and spending time with her beloved cat, Twix. Twix is a Bombay feline with a zigzag at the base of her tail. Her hobbies include listening to birds, playing with her feathered wand toy, sunbathing, and getting head rubs.
