Bothell Pet Hospital Breaking Ground on State-of-the-Art Hospital

We are so excited to share that, after more than 70 years at its current location, Bothell Pet Hospital is set to break ground on a brand-new, state-of-the-facility in early 2025. To that end, Bothell Pet Hospital has secured a new, one-acre business parcel at 17121 Bothell Way (next to Yakima Market) for development of our new hospital. We anticipate completion of this current project by early 2026. Until then, we will continue to operate at full capacity at our current location on 9708 Ormbrek Street.

We have been planning this big step for a few years as we continued to outgrow our current location. Now with the parcel secured, we can begin the process of building a new hospital — a hospital that will not only meet the needs of our current and future clients, but also one that will help ensure access to exceptional veterinary for years to come.

It is important to note that Bothell Pet Hospital has extended its lease at its current location for two more years, allowing for time to build and transition to the new hospital. 

“As the City of Bothell has grown and expanded, Bothell Pet Hospital was moved off of Bothell Way and hidden behind businesses on Ormbrek Street,” shared Dr. Debra Nicholson. “We continued to grow despite this, and we are now busting at the seams in our 2,500-square-foot home. Our team decided early on that although our current location is beloved by our team, it was not ideal for expansion with its hidden, limited space. Of course, our goal was to remain in the heart of Bothell, which the new location provides.”

The vision of the new building includes keeping the same homey, local-charm feel that our current hospital has, plus add modern and contemporary updates. “The entire interior space will become the state-of-the-art hospital we have dreamed of for years,” Dr. Nicholson said. “We look forward to sharing updates along the way as we develop the space and, of course, can’t wait to host a big open house and community event as we roll into the new facility.”

Dr. Lesley Kovar, Bothell Pet Hospital’s Medical Director and WSVMA Veterinarian of the Year, has been with Bothell Pet Hospital in 1993. “We are so excited about our future in a new facility,” Dr. Kovar shared. “Having spent over 30 years in our current building, I can certainly attest to how much we have outgrown it. I so look forward to providing care for our patients in our new home!”
