Featured Pet, March 2021: Tasuni

Many of you who visit Bothell Pet Hospital may have come across the bubbly force of nature who helps man the front desk, Eli. Well, she is the “mom” to an equally exuberant and adventurous cat named Tasuni.

Tasuni, a nearly 3-year-old Domestic Longhair, was left in a box outside our practice with his mom and a handful siblings. (Sadly, no more than a few days old at the time.) Luckily, after some follow-up care, Tasuni’s mom found a home with a wonderful couple who are longtime Bothell Pet Hospital clients. Once they were weaned, the rest of the siblings all found forever homes with fellow hospital employees. (Had to keep them “in the family” after all.)

Now, a little more about Tasuni. He was named after a character in the RTS game called Path of Exile. He also has been known to respond to “the boy,” “little man,” Tasubi and, the favorite, “trash baby.” The latter due to his fondness for, well, eating anything and everything. He is an adventurous eater who has really kept his mom on her toes to keep him safe.

Tasuni is always up for a game or two and particularly loves balls he can chase around the apartment.

“He goes nuts over bottle caps,” shared Eli. “He could be in the middle of a deep sleep but the moment we open a beer he comes running into the kitchen with a sleepy yet hopeful look that a new game may be afoot.”

Tasuni is a very social cat who loves to be around people. His heart though belongs to his mom. He has been known to follow her everywhere she goes.

Continued Eli, “there have been a few times I didn’t realize he followed me and I’ve shut the door behind myself only to hear the saddest meows at the door moments later.”

Tasuni is a bit timid with a surprising adventurous side. He may at first be scared to try new things, like going to a new place, but once he is there he is very curious and tries his best to be brave. He is also very smart, so his mom has used that and his food motivation to teach him quite a few tricks that they both are more than happy to show-off for friends and family.

Continued Eli, “When I asked my husband how he’d describe our boy he said ‘a well-behaved trouble maker.’ He doesn’t try to cause trouble, but his need for enrichment and entertainment can cause him to be a hand full at times. He can be rambunctious, but he’s always so gentle even when he’s being mouthy. I’ve worked very hard to raise him well, and it shows a lot! He’s got the sweetest look about him, and while he’s not super into being pet, he does get into cuddly moods here and there that I cherish.”

Well, at Bothell Pet Hospital, we couldn’t be happier to have Eli taking care of our customers and their pets and are equally delighted that she has Tasuni by her side to light up her life.
