Cat of the Month, December 2019: Repete

Repete, a rambunctious 8 ½-year-old ginger cat, is beloved by all and is the Bothell Pet Hospital Pet of the Month!

Repete met his family in October of 2011 through Homeward Pet Adoption Center in Woodinville. His new owners were so happy to visit Homeward Pet to adopt a brand-new little black kitten named Bart. Well, Repete made it known that Bart was his good buddy and wanted to go wherever he was going to go. The family couldn’t resist that happy face and didn’t want to separate the two; thus two cats were on their way to their forever home.

“We had not anticipated adopting two kittens that day,” said Repete’s mom Jill. “But what could we do. They were such a bonded pair. We are just so happy that, in the end, we could help two kittens find their way home.”

Continued Jill, “As for Repete, the fun part was the name. We had had and orange tabby before named Pete, so naturally this new little guy was christened Repete. Of course, he also responds to Pete Wetey and comes running whenever Bart is summoned as well.”

Repete is the typical ginger cat. He loves to play and enjoys constant attention. Whether chasing the laser pointer, wrassling his brother Bart, asking for rough pets or angling for treats at dinner time, Repete is always working hard to be the center of attention.

His family is a longtime client of Bothell Pet Hospital, so they made sure to bring Repete in to see us for his annual dental. All went well and he was sent on home with a clean bill of health.

Our team look forward to seeing Bart and Repete more in the future and watching how these two grow through the years. Here is to a long, healthy life for both!

Annual Dental Care

Poor dental hygiene can put both your pet’s health and your pocket book at risk. “Dog breath” – or a cat with a foul-smelling mouth – can be a sign of untreated dental conditions. If left untreated, you may put your pet at risk for greater problems such as periodontitis or heart disease.

Routine cleanings can help prevent periodontal disease and save money in the long run.  A 2014 analysis conducted by Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. showed that the average cost per pet to prevent dental disease is just one-third of the average cost of treating dental disease.

More importantly, a complete oral examination can detect hidden health problems. Even if your pet’s breath smells fine, there still could be dental conditions that are hard to spot without a complete veterinary exam.

Schedule your pet’s dental checkup with us now. We’ll do a thorough checkup to make sure your pet is at optimum health. We also can show you how to brush your pet’s teeth in between exams. Brushing is the single most effective thing you can do to keep your pet’s teeth healthy between dental cleanings. For more information, call 425.486.3251
