Cat of the Month, May 2019: Tasuni
Tasuni, a 9-week-old Domestic longhair kitten, showed up one summer day along with his siblings and mother in a box dropped off near Bothell Pet Hospital. Our team looked them over and determined that they were in good health, but would need to grow up a bit before looking to find their forever homes.
One of our doctors took on their extended care and brought them all home to stay until they were old enough to be adopted. The doctor’s’ daughter, in particular, did a wonderful job of giving mom a hand watching over the litter and socializing the kittens. In the end, all the kittens, including Tasuni, found homes with Bothell Pet Hospital staff while their mom went home with a caring client. Happy ending for all!
Now that leads us to Tasuni’s extended tale. This bundle of sass and energy was christened Tasuni by his new mom which comes from an ARPG video game called Path of Exile. “What can I say,” said Eli. “This game means a lot to myself and my family, so we just knew it would fit Tasuni so very well.”
Eli sharing more on Tasuni, “As a healthy young cat, Tasuni will pretty much eat anything we give him. This is great when we are trying to make sure he is eating healthy, but this also means he will try to devour whatever is in front of him. We have seen him eat raw ginger, lemon and other random foods. Definitely have to keep a very close eye or make sure we always have his favorite dried salmon treats handy!”
It goes without saying that Tasuni is agile and rambunctious. Whether chasing his flying feather wand or other favorite toys, he jumps, flips and does anything he can to catch it. Once he succeeds at catching his toy, he typically attempts to run off with it (probably with the goal of trying to eat it).
What makes Tasuni so much fun? “Well, we love how much he loves to ride on our shoulders,” said Eli. “Especially when we are in the kitchen. Frankly, he must love the good view of all that food.”
Tasuni remains the quintessential curious cat. He loves to explore new places with endless amazement and never runs away from strangers. Truly, just a sociable little guy who approaches new people with interest in his eyes, or maybe, just begging for a bit of extra food.
Tasuni, we are so happy you and Eli are part of the Bothell Pet Hospital extended family. Here is to many healthy and happy years to come.
